Welcome to the site!
Non-destructive examination, as you might guess, is examination of some material sample without destroying that sample. Often the term refers to all the methods of examination available which are non-destructive rather than merely an instance of the process.
The list of methods is extensive, and includes some methods that are in fact destructive. However, ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle (MP), liquid penetrant (PT), x-rays (RT), and eddy current (ET) are just some of the non-destructive methods that are commonly used.
This site is dedicated to describing the science behind NDE methods, and the various aspects of life as an NDT. Therefore, the information found here will include science, training, schedules, utilities, and other useful information as the site grows.
